Arriverà nei negozi il 28 ottobre l’album di cover di Beatles realizzato dai Flaming Lips, intitolato With a little help from my fwends. Il disco è una rilettura integrale di Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, e si avvale della partecipazione di musicisti come Maynard James Keenan (Tool), Moby, My Morning Jacket, Miley Cyrus, MGMT, Tegan & Sara, Phantogram, J Mascis (Dinosaur Jr.), Foxygen, Grace Potter e Dr. Dog.
Il quattordicesimo album di studio dei Flaming Lips sarà pubblicato dalla Warner Bros. Per l’occasione è attiva una campagna sul sito Pledge Music: effettuando il preorder di With a little help from my fwends sul portale, sarà possibile accedere a uno speciale “making of” del disco. Inoltre, sarà disponibile del materiale esclusivo, come CD e vinili autografati, un poster autografato di Oliver Hibert (l’autore dell’artwork), una t-shirt. Sempre sulla pagina di Pledge Music, trovate un video di presentazione del progetto e, soprattutto, sotto, cliccando sul pulsante “play”, potrete ascoltare una versione di Lucy in the sky with diamonds incisa dai Flaming Lips con Miley Cyrus e Moby.
I ricavati dalla vendita di With a little help from my fwends andranno all’organizzazione Bella Foundation di Oklahoma City (la città natale della band) che si occupa di fornire cure veterinarie agli animali di persone svantaggiate o malate.
