Bob Dylan, Brian Wilson, i Cure, Willie Nelson, Perry Farrell e Yusuf Islam/Cat Stevens: sono solo alcuni degli artisti che parteciperanno al disco-tributo a Paul McCartney, The art of McCartney, nei negozi il 28 novembre.
Un cast molto ricco, insomma (ci sono anche Alice Cooper, Def Leppard, Paul Rodgers, Roger Daltrey, Chrissie Hynde e B.B. King), che ripercorrerà tutta la carriera di Macca. The art of McCartney è prodotto da Ralph Salla, che lavora al progetto dal 2003 (con l’approvazione di Paul McCartney). I vari musicisti coinvolti sono stati affiancati in studio dai chitarristi Rusty Anderson e Brian Ray, dal tastierista Paul “Wix” Wickens e dal batterista Abe Laboriel Jr.
Nella tracklist svettano, tra le altre, le cover di Things we said today di Bob Dylan, Maybe I’m amazed e Live and let die di Billy Joel, Helter skelter di Roger Daltrey, Hello goodbye dei Cure (cantata con James McCartney, figlio di Paul) e The long and winding road di Yusuf Islam (alias Cat Stevens).
The art of McCartney sarà disponibile in formato digitale, CD, vinile e in un box set “deluxe”, con un documentario che racconta l’intero progetto, una penna USB dalla forma del basso Hofner di McCartney e un certificato di autenticità.
