Sono stati assegnati tutti i premi del Sundance Festival 2014, la famosa rassegna dedicata al cinema indipendente, la cui direzione artistica è affidata, dal 1984, al Sundance institute, fondato nell’81 da Robert Redford.
A vincere il Sundance è Whiplash, film di Damien Chazelle, interpretato da Miles Teller e J.K. Simmons. La pellicola racconta il rapporto conflittuale tra un batterista jazz e il suo insegnante.
